April showers mean online shopping. (AM I RIGHT?!) The changing of seasons is always fun and below are a few of my favorite things right now.
This striped dress with leather pockets.
Baublebar x Nordstrom goodies.
I’ve been really into camo lately and this bag is the perfect combo of dots and edge.
I am dying to make these chocolate dipped peeps for my office.
I want this bright pink chair from Marfa.
Everything about this is perfect. I need that clutch.
Are leopard sandals overkill after that clutch? No. Plus in the Texas heat I will be wearing sandals for the next 10 months.
I recently took a trip to LA for work and fortunately it turned into a long weekend for me and Casey.
Probably the best part was being able to see my friend Alex – and exploring Joshua Tree and Venice with Casey. I finally got to go to Urbanic on Abbott Kinney! I must say, the last time I was in LA, I wasn’t too fond of it. This time I really grew to like it. I love all the succulents everywhere – they make me feel a little more at home! Have you ever had a change of heart about somewhere the second time you visit?
Few things are more exciting than moving into a new space! It can definitely be stressful (When Casey and I moved into the loft our air conditioner stopped working and we ran around town getting things we didn’t think we would need – like a new shower curtain rod). It’s always nice when you finally settle and can invite friends over to see your new space.
In honor of one of my best friends moving into a new space last weekend, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite housewarming gifts.
I love these striped candles – they are an easy way to add some pops of color to a new home! Find them here.
I’ll admit that I’m a vase fiend. I want EVERY one I see. These are super cute and you can find them here.
How practical (and hysterical) is this fruit/veggie slicer? This is great if your friend loves salads/baking. You can find it here.
And if you want something that is actually practical, I love this nesting bowl/measuring cup set. Find it here.
I love coffee shops. Typically I stick to the ones I love in Deep Ellum (Murray Street and Mokah). Since Weekend Coffee isn’t far from my work I thought I would give it a try.
Boy is it cute! In terms of coffee options, it’s pretty basic (which I love – I don’t need a million ingredients in my coffee/latte/mocha). Plus the staff was super friendly without being annoyingly friendly.
I definitely want to go back when I have time to sit/explore Ten Over Six.
I love to try a bunch of different DIY projects so I though I would share a few that I am itching to do from my Pinterest.

So I’m going to be pretty stereotypical and say 2013 was an insane year. There was a lot of personal growth and trying all the new things popping up in Deep Ellum.
For 2014 I am focused on trying more new things and stressing less. This past year I tried out a calligraphy class and loved it so much that I want to go back for the advanced class.
I want to spend more days at the park with my dog and friends (Lola and Zaza are quite the pair at Klyde Warren!) I want to push myself to do things I’ve always wanted to try (like learning the ukulele or picking Chinese back up).
I am determined that this year I will get our loft very organized and hopefully add some new furniture, too! I’m trying to eat more veggies this year and take in less sugar (as I’ve gotten older, I’ve really noticed how sugar makes me completely crash).
What are you hopes for the new year?
